Richard "Dick" Burnley


CANAL FULTON -- Richard "Dick" Burnley, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great friend to many people, passed away March 19th, 2010. He was 60 years old.  He was born February 20, 1950 in Barberton, Ohio to Richard and Bonnie Burnley. He married Sharon Caser in 1970 and welcomed two daughters into this world, Jennifer and Carianne. A resident of Canal Fulton since 1971, he was a Research Analyst at Lockheed Martin, and a member of Lost in the 50's Car Club. He was in the process of restoring a 1966 Chevy Truck.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Burnley and Bonnie Burnley (Manning). He is survived in death by his wife, Sharon Burnley; his daughters, Jennifer Alexander and Carianne (Cari) Burnley; his sons-in-law, Frank Alexander and Eric Mele; his sister and brother, Diana Burnley and Mark Burnley; his grandchildren, Dominic and Ashton; his many nieces and nephews. Finally, he is survived in death by his "best dog ever", Stella.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend; you will forever live on in the hearts and memories of every person who met you. Thank you for sharing your genuine happiness and love with everyone you met in your 60 years on this earth. We will all miss you more than you will ever know...   A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday March 23, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton). The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until service time. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 4904 Quick Rd, Peninsula, OH 44264, where he rescued his "best dog ever".
