Kirby Allen Huddleston, 34, beloved son of Jim and Sharon Huddleston, passed away suddenly on August 22, 2010. Kirby was born in Barberton, Ohio on October 10, 1975. He was a 1994 graduate of Coventry High School. He served in the U.S. Navy completing two tours of duty in the Persian Gulf during the initial invasion of Iraq. He was a resident of Jacksonville Beach, Florida since 1999. Kirby was employed as a bartender-manager at The Ritz in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Kirby was always the center of attention. Full of life, he would always bring laughter to all that had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a kind soul with many friends and would go out of his way to do anything for them. Kirby was an avid sports fan and his favorite team was OHIO State. He most recently played in the Coventry vs. Manchester Alumni game where he dominated as linebacker and on special teams. He will be missed by all his family and friends. Kirby was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pierce and Evedith Cook, Lillian Westfall and Ernest Huddleston; and nephew, Kyle Christopher Stewart. Besides his parents, he is survived by daughter, Lily Huddleston; brother, Brian (Melissa) Huddleston; sister, Kristy (Tony) Stewart; loving nephew, Tyler Anthony Stewart; mother of his daughter, Christine; and many other family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, OH 44319 (SR 619), with Rev. Ronald Whittenberger officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday. Interment will be at Canal Fulton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kirby's daughter Lily Huddleston in c/o Schermesser Funeral home.
