BARBERTON -- John Leonard Myers, 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2011. He was born in Madisonville, Tennessee on March 24, 1928. A resident of Barberton for 65 years, he retired from Nickles Bakery, he was a member of Teamsters Local #52 and Barberton First Baptist Church. John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will remain in our hearts forever and will be sadly missed. Preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Myers Walls and brother, Richard Myers; John is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruby Beryl Myers; son, John Ronald (Jeannie) Myers; daughter, Linda (Newman) Adair all of Barberton; grandchildren, Nicole (Kevin) Smith of Hinckley, Ohio, Lori (Clint) Kushner of Jackson Township, Bridgette Ann Myers and Zachary Hose of Barberton; great-grandchildren, Leo, Grace, Sydney and Amelia Smith; sister, Gena Mae Woody of Cleveland, Tennessee; brother, John Roy (Lois) Moses of Madisonville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Hattie Myers of Alcoa, Tennessee; along with nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care and also his life-long friend, Gene Conner for all the care, support and assistance that John received. Funeral service will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Rev. Gregory Hogan officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
