NORTON -- Gary N. Holmes, 54, passed away late on the evening of Wednesday, June 8, 2011. A resident of the Norton area for the past 24 years, he served as Assistant Scout Master Troup #127 and was employed with Fred Martin Superstore for the past 12 years. His favorite past-times involved fishing, photography and he had a passionate love for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and OSU football. Preceded in death by his father, Clarence; brother, Jeff; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Marie Huth; and his two yellow Labradors, “Sissy” and “Bilbo”. Gary is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary; daughter, Deanna and her fiancé Dan Boggs; son, Josh (Denise); grandson, Raven; a future grandchild and his mother, Betty. Also survived by brothers, David, Tim (Terri), Ken (Donna); sister-in-law, Martha (Ron) Little; brother-in-law, Paul (Janice) Huth; numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at Barberton Citizen's Hospital and Akron City Hospital for their care and kindness, and especially Dr. Haque. Funeral service will be held Monday 11 a.m. at the Campfield Hickman Collier Funeral Home, 566 West Park Ave., Barberton 44203. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association , 3500 Embassy Parkway, Ste. 100, Akron OH 44333-8403.
