BARBERTON---Eugene J. Sukie, 84, passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at Manor Care of Barberton. Born in Barberton, Eugene had been a life resident where he worked for P.P.G. Industries and Barberton Citizens Hospital, was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 1617, former president of Integrity Federal Credit Union, P.O.W. Chapter 8, C.A.A. and the Holy Name Society. Eugene was also a proud Army Veteran having served in WWII. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Teresa Sukie; Survivors include wife Violet; daughters Judith Ann (William) Meeks of Barberton, Janis Lynn (Robert) Dowdell of Coventry, Jayne Marie (Jeff) Davis of Barberton and Jacqui Jean (Thomas) Davis of Akron; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers Joseph (Norma) Sukie of Barberton and Louis (Donna) Sukie of Barberton; aunt Ann Troyer; 7 nieces, 3 nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and many cousins in the Somerick and Troyer family. Divine Liturgy will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009, 10:00 A.M. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 1051 E. Robinson Ave., Fr. Miron Kerul-Kmec celebrant. Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery. Calling Hours TODAY 5-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where Parastas service will be held at 7 P.M.
