Dorothy M. Brandon, 96, formerly of Manchester, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 in Punta Gorda, Florida. She was born July 10, 1913 and had been a resident of Manchester most of her life. Mom lived her life caring for her family and she was very active at the Manchester Christian Church, where she had been a member since 1942. She served as a Sunday school teacher, choir director, pianist, VBS director and office secretary. Her most recent years were spent in Valrico and Punta Gorda, Florida. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ruth Wilkinson; her husband, Paul; and her brother, Jack Wilkinson. She is survived by her children, Richard (Dalene), Joan (Bill) Cox, David (Fran) and Jeff (Jackie); 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service FRIDAY, 11 a.m. at the Manchester Christian Church, 930 West Nimisila Road, Akron, OH 44319, with B. Kelly Gowen officiating. Burial at Manchester Cemetery. Visitation THURSDAY, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 East Cherry St. (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) and FRIDAY from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Memorials may be made in Dorothy's name to the Manchester Christian Church.
