Chester R. Wiley

BARBERTON / NORTH CANTON - Chester R. “Chet” Wiley, 84, passed on to his eternal home in heaven on Friday, December 31, 2010.  A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be deeply missed by his family and friends, whom he dearly loved. His gentle, friendly manner and quick smile that were characteristic throughout his life remained with him even through his final days.  Chet was retired from Andrews Trucking Co. (Montgomery Ward delivery). During his retirement years he enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and traveling and was able to visit all fifty states. He was a member of Crosspoint Church in North Canton where he was active in the Happy Harvesters senior group.  He was born on July 20, 1926 in Barnesville, Ohio to Charm and Jessie Wiley. He lived most of his life in Barberton, Ohio and moved to North Canton, Ohio in 2008.  Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris; brothers, Floyd and Hillis and sister, Adda Foutty. Chet is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Dorothy Jacobs Wiley and children, Ronald (Mary), Gary (Diane), Jerry (Louise), Patricia (Larry) Hayman, Dennis (Paula), David (Ann) Jacobs and Deborah Ostrov. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.  Funeral service will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Pastor Tim King officiating. Burial Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
