Audrey M. (Howard) Stewart, 86, passed away September 19, 2011. She was born in Cullman, Ala. to the late Thelbert and Lena (Gray) Howard and had been an Akron resident for most of her life. She was a Central High School graduate and worked for Akron City Hospital for 23 years. She was also a member of Goodyear Heights United Methodist Church, of the Yusef Kahn Cauldron and of the Clowns of America International. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Charles. She is survived by her sons, George (Lynette) of Danville, Va. and Charles (Beverly), David (Janice) and Bruce (Sandy), all of Akron; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Sam Martin officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Calling hours will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Cross.
